G'day!

That's me back from my trip down under. Suffice to say I had an absolutely fantastic time in Australia, despite the questionable temperatures. Sydney is possibly the most beautiful city I've ever seen and if I had the money, I don't think I'd hesitate to move there (or possibly Wollongong, y'see there was this boy...). I met people from all around the world (including, HOMG, Texans) and even got a few glimpses of the Pope up close. Don't even get me started on my whale cruise, seriously.

I know my track record insists otherwise, but I will try to do a report on my time there. I do warn you it will most likely include religious blabbering, after all I was there on a pilgrimage. I've also been shanghaied into getting a Bebo to share my pics.

You may have noticed that comments are disabled on this post. Why you ask? Because I have 293 emails. This may not be much to some, but to me, it's rather a lot. So if you have left me a message over the past fortnight, give me a while to get back to ya. I'll be honest and say I probably won't start tackling them till tomorrow (unless it's important) cos the jet-lag is hitting like woah and I've somehow managed to bring a blocked nose back with me as well.

Just a post to let y'all know that I'm away to Sydney today for two weeks, so if you email/text me and get no reply, that'll be why. I'm currently alternating between being gleefully excited and hyperventilating. I hope nothing too exciting happens while I'm away, though feel free to get the summer's wank quota out of the way while I'm not here *g* if new Jensen pics emerge in the next fortnight after such a long time of nothing, I may implode.

Ten Inch Hero Screening

Some of you may have already heard elsewhere, but for those who haven't, tigressunicorn is organising a screening of Jensen's movie Ten Inch Hero in London. It is provisionally taking place on Saturday 6th September in London (location still to be determined) and will be a midday screening to give everyone time to travel from wherever they are.

The price of tickets is still to be determined and will be decided based on the level of interest the fandom shows. I'd ask everyone that thinks they will be able to go to please fill out the poll below. The more people that indicate they want to go, the less the price will be.

More details will be posted once we have an idea of numbers. I'll be linking this to comms on LJ. I'd ask you all to please spread the word and link back to this post, or ask people to indicate their interest by emailing tihscreening@googlemail.com. You can also send any questions you might have to that address too.

Best Moment: Dean’s speech to Lucas about his mother. It breaks my heart every time and is our first real look into the workings of Dean’s mind, hence why it’s a rather special scene. I love how soft he speaks and the way his voice breaks occasionally. Oh Dean.

Putting the ‘Win’ in Winchester: Dean leaning over Sam to see the laptop.

I love how comfortable the boys are with being so physically close. It’s such a quick moment, but it screams of their history growing up together in each other’s space.

Flaily Hands: Dean grinning around the pen.

I’ve never wanted to be an inanimate object more in my entire life! Simply guh. You can’t help but smile along with him and seriously want to jump him. Honourable mentions also go to when Dean’s sitting on the bench drawing with Lucas (such big, anime eyes), the first shot of Sam when he’s talking to Andrea after her attack (so pretty and green) and the boys all wet in the lake.

Memorable Quotes:

I adore Amy. She’s such a great actress and if I remember rightly, the first woman to properly plant one on Dean. Lucky bitch.

Does anyone else miss the utterly pointless but pretty car!porn that frequented our screens during season one?

Thinky Thoughts: How exactly did Dean see something awful happen to Mary? Does he simply mean seeing all the fire and knowing she was in the room, or is there something Dean isn’t telling us? Because as far as we know, Dean ran out of his room to be met with his Dad carrying Sammy and then it was straight outside with both boys, so technically he never actually saw anything.

Also, Dean mentions Sammy having been away for two years at college again in the opening scene at the diner. I know there was question whether Sam had been away for two or four years. After Kripke acknowledged his mistake at the Paley festival, I’d taken to accepting four years as canon (having forgotten this moment in DitW). So someone please set me straight, two or four years? (Also, Dean changes his tune and says four years again in a later episode, Hookman if I remember rightly.)

Watch the Winchesters: because Dean is utterly adorable with children.

Best Moment: The conversation between Sam and Dean by the camp fire. It’s the show’s mission statement, more or less. Especially considering the amount of times we’ve heard Dean’s, “saving people, hunting things, the family business”.

Putting the ‘Win’ in Winchester: Sam rescuing Dean.

Because one of Sam’s hands fits both of Dean’s *draws hearts* in all seriousness, it's also because it's one of the few times Sam saves Dean as opposed to the other way around and the worry evident in Sam's voice is wonderful to hear. (Yes, I'm aware I'm slightly cheating with a promo pic, but I'll have you know it's very hard to get a clear screencap of this moment.)

Flaily Hands: What else but dirty, bloody Dean.

Don’t ask me why. He’s just hot like this, mkay? The fact that he's pissed and ~~wielding guns~~ ~~saying he's wielding flares is just going to make me think of Dean in purple flare trousers and that's totally going to ruin hot!Dean~~ wielding flares may have something to do with it.

Show’s kinda clever sometimes. This would be one of those times. Only Dean *g* also yay for M&Ms counting as provisions.

Thinky Thoughts: It’s interesting how the conversation with the survivor of the wendigo attack reflects the positions of both brothers. He not only talks about witnessing a horrifying event at a young age (Dean, dealt with in 'Dead in the Water'), but also wondering why you survived while someone you loved was killed (Sam, discussed over a few episodes). Although it wasn't acknowledged by the brothers at the time, it was obviously a nod to what was to come.

Watch the Winchesters: because admiring dirty!Dean never gets old.

I think it says a lot about this fandom that one minute people are speculating over Padacoy with a side of tearing Jared to shreads, and the next, everyone's squeeing over the Ackles clan going to visit him at the con (which, OMG SQUEE *DRAWS A MILLION HEARTS*).

It's sad that Jared and Sandy have split, but why is their business. Now that fandom seems to be appeased by both the words of Sandy and Jared, I'm hoping we can all return to the reason why we're really here: Supernatural, and I don't mean that in a philosophical "this is why we were born" sense, though saying that...

1x01 Pilot

Best Moment: Jess burning on the ceiling.

No, I’m not sadistic. I still remember how unexpected it was and being reduced to the “omgthisshowsfreakingawesome” level of incoherency for the first time. The episode itself was great and the boys were pretty, but that moment right there is what made me come back for more.

Putting the ‘Win’ in Winchester: There are so many (obvious) moments to choose from, but I’m going to go for two little scenes that are a bit more understated: returning home in the Impala right the way through to Sam saying goodbye in Stanford. There are plenty examples in the episode of the dynamic between the two brothers, but these few minutes are what truly highlight, for me, how close they were then and how much they miss each other now. Dean’s seemingly casual acceptance of Sam not going with him and Sam’s offer to meet up with Dean later just make me ache.

Flaily Hands: Sam and Dean fighting each other in Sam’s apartment.

I don’t believe this requires an explanation.

It hurts to watch John in the opening teaser. He’s so sweet with Dean and it just makes me wonder what kind of father he would have become had it not been for Mary’s violent death.

Notable Scare: Everytime that damn bird flies out of Constance’s house when Troy approaches the door, I jump. Every damn time.

Notable Music: Back in Black and Highway to Hell by AC/DC. Grin like a loon, so I do, when I hear them.

Kerr Smith has been added to the cast of My Bloody Valentine 3-D! (The link contains some spoilers for the movie.)

OMG, Jensen and Kerr together! I fell in love with Kerr on Charmed, so you can imagine I'm a little giddy that two of my favourite boys will be acting together. Now I know they were both in Dawson's Creek, but Jensen had bad hair and Kerr's got prettier with age. Therefore this news equals WHEE for me!

Plot? What plot?! I didn't really give a damn before and I certainly don't now. Jensen and Kerr are going to be on the big screen together. That's all I need to know.

For those unfamilar with Kerr Smith, let me introduce you...

Do tell me, dearest flist, how this sentence has not only been taken quite literally by fandom, but has been extended to "OMG JENSEN CRIED FOR THE ENTIRE SHOOT!!!!!" Because I quite clearly remember Jim saying for an hour, simply due to me thinking Jim meant Dean and making a mental note to buy more tissues, since the finale was obviously going to be like last year's again (and I can't resist crying when Dean/Jensen cries).

Not that I would think it anything less than utterly adorable if Jensen had indeed cried for the entire shoot, but I feel like I've missed some major report/article in my absence and would rather like to read it...

ETA: Apparently I have the worst hearing ever. Oh Jensen.

SPN Episode 3x13

I'm sorry, I know I'm behind on comments, but I wanted to post a small reaction on this week's episode...

"About how gay love can pierce through the veil of death and save the day"

Oh Kripke, have we been in at the Wincest again? Hmm? Considering I know you'd never actually go there (although I'm positive all those little gay lines were mocking the Wincesters, especially since you waited for two 'hunters' to do it), I'm going to remove the gay from that sentence and assume you're hinting at something *crosses fingers for what she hopes will happen regarding Dean's deal* (I'll make a seperate post when I have the time on what my hope actually is).

I liked the episode, it was amusing and the hand-held camera made it rather creepy. Whee, and the boys were swearing *victory arms* cos they totally would if it weren't for the CW censors. Loved, "in your duffle," and, "aren't they the assholes from Texas?" For all I found the background on the Ghostfacers funny (garage door *wins*), I did think it took a while for the boys to appear and it wasn't exactly the kind of episode I wanted to welcome us back. Apart from that though, yay boys, I enjoyed the change!

ETA: Forgot to mention, I adored the impala drive-by with the rock music playing when they first appeared and at the end, whee!

I am currently unspoiled for next week's ep (or at least as far as I can remember). I pray I remain that way.

...that people aren't that excited about Jensen's movie, which is fair enough. Was I not just being skeptical about Jared's choices the other week when it sounded like he was set to do another crappy horror? To be honest, I was just too thrilled that Jensen had a movie to care about what said movie was. Then I calmed down and thought, "3D? Seriously? Jensen...are you sure?" Cos 3D doesn't exactly inspire confidence in me Jen, gotta tell ya, and I would have thought you'd be wary about slasher movies after your last one. Each to their own though, I'm too psyched that Jensen's got a movie to judge it before I see it so yay *throws out sparkly balloons* which is hypocritical of me considering my opinions on Jared's two movies, so yeah, sorry Jared *attempts to smile sweetly*

My muse and I are having issues. Or rather, Jensen and I are having issues. I think he's upset over the engagement, but doesn't understand that in my head? He can continue his epic gay romance with Jared for as long as he likes. Anyway, I'm having problems with a certain part of the fic I'm writing at the mo. The boys and my words just aren't meshing. Did you know that you can make Sims gay? Not only that, but did you know that you can make Sims a gay,married couple? Did you also know that if you leave Sims to their own devices for long enough, they'll act all of their own accord? Would you be surprised to hear that on returning from getting cereal, you may find your Sims making out and as they finish while you watch in amused wonder, they may head straight into round two unprompted? Nah, didn't think you would be. I certainly wasn't, considering who the Sims were (what?! I didn't think it'd let me do it!).

*coughs* moving on then. Happy birthday Jensen! A year later than the last time I wrote that, you still own my soul. Actually, since meeting you, you probably own it more, if that is at all possible. How to celebrate? Well, I'll be drinking a few cocktails on you tonight (hen night), and I figured I'd do a picspam too.

Now I've already seen a few people complaining about the amount of picspams on their flist, but quite frankly, I don't care :P this is more for me than for others (considering I've chosen all my fav pics as opposed to a general mix), so I don't mind at all if you just want to skip over it. Mkay guys, you know the drill by now. I apologize profusely for still not finding the time to keep up with you all and I squish to death all those that still leave me comments despite this *squishes to death - only not*

ANYWAY reason for posting. Little known fact: I watch One Tree Hill. Not my usual, I know. I blame Danneel *curses damn girl!crush* not surprisingly then, I maybe had a secret desire to go to the OTH convention, Ravens. For any who don't know, it was canceled early in the year due to poor ticket sales but has been revamped to include SPN...~~because they are really alike~~ because Wayne has cleverly sussed that as long as there's Supernatural, you'll get the crowds.

First guess announcement tonight: Jim Beaver. You guys, the actual Supernatural convention (Asylum, which I am going to) couldn't get Bobby, but the OTH one could. I may have to go to this convention now...I mean it's Bobby you guys, BOBBY! Plus, there'll still be OTH as well and...I never watched Smallville *cough* save season 4 *cough* so I didn't really care when Asylum was a Smallville/Supernatural con, but this will be like two goodies in the one! HA and now that Bobby's signed up, kitty_cat89 has to come with me, mwahahahaha!

I really want to go...man, I'm going to end up going if the prices are okay, aren't I?

Do you not just hate Danneel...and by hate, I mean feel insane jealousy and have a bit of a girl!crush on her. Man, I'd kill to have legs like hers. It's lovely that we finally have definite confirmation that Danneel and Jensen are dating (apparently she's not as tight-lipped as he, understandably, is), now all I need to make me happy are pictures dammit! I completely respect their choice to try and stay out of the limelight, but pics would make me one happy fangirl :)

I feel quite good this week. Been keeping on top of uni work so far, fingers crossed it lasts! I'd previously complained about hating my course, but things are getting better again (I believe the Jason gig is responsible for that to be honest, gave me a chance to completely relax and enjoy myself! Will post about it soon, I PROMISE). Had a bit of a fight with my family a few days back, but it's been brushed under the carpet at the moment and I'm happy to keep it that way! Meeting with friends on Monday, including an old friend that I just got reacquainted with, so I'm looking forward to that :)

*facepalms* Jack, what are you doing? Stop getting all frowny-faced over Gwen (who I can no longer listen to without giggling thanks to wenchpixie's impressions of her on the bus to Brighton) and go makeout with Ianto! Thank God they didn't kill Rhys off like I feared, or they'd be ramming Jack/Gwen down our throats ~~more than usual~~ for the rest of the season.

So, as you can probably tell, uni has been kicking my ass quite spectacularly, to the extent I'm not even sure if this is what I want to do anymore. I could whine about it, but that's not the point of this post (maybe later, when I do a mammoth post catching you all up).

What is the point I hear you ask? Well, I've been rather quiet on the posting/commenting/replying front lately and while I hope I will have a chance to rectify that now I've finished one of my law courses, I can't promise anything. I'm really sorry about that and I miss all the people that I've become friends with, but there's honestly not much that I can do about it if I want to pass my degree.

I'm not planning a flist cut, because I like everyone on it. What I am saying however, is that I understand if anyone plans on defriending me. I want to try hard to stay in touch, but until I experience what my workload will be like this semester, I won't be able to say whether the periods of silence will get shorter or not.

*snuggles tight* otherwise, I hope you are all well and I'll try and catch up with you all tonight unless I get chucked off. Can't wait till my sister's birthday when that will no longer be an issue *g*

Man, am I glad uni is over for Christmas! Not that the work stops since I have exams in three weeks, but the winter break is a nice little breather! All your Christmas cards have been sent, though apparently I've missed quite a few deadlines, so I apologize if they don't get to you in time.

ANYWAYS, the point of this post is to share a vid. I've finally cracked working Sony Vegas and this was my trial run before I moved onto SPN.
